Mechanoreceptors and Bowen Therapy
A 32 lesson course where we learn about the mechanoreceptors in relation to the Bowen technique.
This 32 lesson course will enrich your knowledge.
A 5 minute video about The Biology of Bowen course(s).
A welcome video where you see how the course is presented to you. Jenny talks about the modular structure of the 6-week course, that includes video, images, graphics and even quizzes. Remember, some modules (as this one) are available as individual mini-courses.

Mechanoreceptors and Bowen
Mechanostimulation of the sensory receptors...
One of the mechanisms that help to explain Bowen involve the sensory receptors. Some insights you may not have noticed before. We learn about the most relevant ones, such as the golgi receptors and how the Bowen therapist may adjust his/her touch for greater effect...This course is a must! This mini-course covers everything you need to know, or should know about the key intrafascial receptors that are related to the mechanisms of the Bowen Technique. We go deeper, as always.
Why does Bowen stimulate any receptors at all?
What are receptors anyway?
What are the key proprioceptors stimulated with Bowen? And why?
Why is the Bowen manoeuvre multi-faceted?
What clues could recent advances in fascia research give us about the efficacy of Bowen?
Finally: Do we want to add depth and meaning to that small Bowen manoeuvre?

Exactly! We are introduced to the somatosensory system. Eventually unravelling the key receptors believed to be stimulated with the Bowen technique and we learn why and how. Based on recent advances in fascia research, linked in with our understanding of the Bowen manoeuvre.

Mini-courses
Courses are delivered using a variety of media: video (99%) accompanied by graphics and illustrations, some text/pdf lessons, and quizzes. Once you purchase, you have immediate access to the course.
Yes, of course you can! The courses are primarily aimed at the Bowen Therapist, however they are open to everyone, particularly to other manual therapists and those with interest in the Bowen technique.
Yes. This course–as with all non hands-on training for BTPA–falls under: 'Other Courses' section' (UK).
CPE for BTFA (AUST) is pending.
This online course is completely theoretical. All video lessons are accompanied by graphics, illustrations, diagrams, whilst the presenter is speaking. The best and closest you'll get to face-to-face!
Yes. It will be available in Spanish, Portuguese and possibly Greek at a later date. (These are the languages Jenny also speaks)
Yes, correct. Note that 5 of the 6 modules (of full course) are available to be purchased separately, as 'mini-courses'. Best value is to enrol in the 6-module course. However, opting for individual mini-courses is a great option too if you have specific topic interest.
Due to the digital nature of this course, and the fact that digital content can't be returned, this course is non-refundable. Please read the outline description of each module so you understand what the course is about and what you are buying. Please email me with any questions and I will always give you an honest answer so you can make the best decision for you.
My mission is to help you help others through excellence as a Bowen practitioner.

An online video-based theoretical course to advance your knowledge about the mechanisms of Bowen related to fascia and mechanobiology. Delve into a deeper cellular level. Designed for Bowen therapists, though open to everyone! Over 100 lessons!
$369
In this mini course you'll learn about how, why and what mechanoreceptors Bowen stimulates; develop new insights that will empower your practice. We go into depth so you feel confident about the physiological impact on health.
$99
Learn about the ubiquitous connective tissue: fascia related to the Bowen technique. Understand what it is, why it's important and how the Bowen therapist works directly with fascia to initiate profound change in the body. Fundamental knowledge!
$89
This mini course is about the biochemical changes that happen at a cellular level when mechanical force is exerted onto tissue - and relative to the Bowen Technique! The Bowen manoeuvre will have a whole new depth of understanding.
$79
A short course that delves into the relationship between the autonomic nervous system and Bowen; the mechanisms and highlighting the impact of stress. With a very science-lens, you will finally understand the power of Bowen on the nervous system.
