Fascia is the access point into the body for healing!

In this mini course, you will learn all about fascia and more importantly → in relation to the Bowen Technique.

We begin with fascia 101 progressing to what we need to know in relation to Bowen Therapy - that is, expanding our knowledge about fascia is intimately linked in with our understanding of the biomechanics of Bowen. If you are not ready to do the 6-module course, but want to start learning the fundamentals - start here!

Each topic and sub-topic progresses into the nature of fascia, its innervation, and integrating this knowledge (plus new insights!) into the Bowen technique. Knowing about the fabric you are manipulating is essential, you would agree!

What you will learn

We first ask the question: What are we touching?

Well, skin, muscles and fascia. Right and...wrong.  Knowing the fabric we work with, we stimulate and manipulate is essential. Bowen Therapy will makes so much more sense after.

In fundamentals module, we learn about fascia in relation to the Bowen technique. Instead of pouring over hundreds of fascia books, I have selected the key areas you need to know as a Bowen practitioner/student and conclude with the clinical relevance for you and your work. Essential knowledge.

Back to the basics. Questions we delve into about fascia.

This course really sets the stage for the following modules and our fundamental knowledge about what and how we are influencing health via the connective tissue system. Here, we start from the beginning as we move through the layers and other important substances.

  • What are the fascial layers we touch?

  • What is included as fascial tissue (according to current research)

  • Do we know what the septa is? Why should we?

  • What is HA and why is it important?

  • What happens with stress and fascia?

  • Finally: Do we want to add depth and meaning to our work

Benefits

What you will gain doing this course

  • Up-knowledge

Being a true excellent soft tissue clinician requires more than manual skills - it requires knowledge beyond the actual technique itself. Knowing what you do and why becomes the foundation of your work!

  • Understand

It's one thing to read about the connective tissue system (or, fascia), yet a totally new learning experience to learn about fascia in relation to the Bowen Technique! Similarly, understanding how Bowen is believed to work, through fascia knowledge.

  • Transfer into practice

Be an effective clinician. Your depth of knowledge and understanding will be transferred into your clinical practice. When you know what is occurring behind or beneath your hands, this wisdom goes far beyond your current work–rather, it is now applied to any new therapeutic skill.

Jenny Petridis

Hi! I am fascinated and passionate about understanding things! I've been in bodywork for about 20 years now, starting when I qualified in Remedial Massage. Once I came across the Bowen technique, well - as they say - the rest is history.

I love to travel, to study, to research and of course, Bowen Therapy. Mix them together and that's how I became deeply involved in and interested in the mechanisms of Bowen through fascia science..
