Would you love to learn about the electric properties of connective tissue in relation to Bowen?

In this mini-course, you will learn about the electric properties of fascia and the important biological processes that occur when apply our therapeutic touch! You will learn about collagen and other electric mechanisms.

What you will learn

What is the piezoelectric phenomena and streaming potentials?

And how do electric fields & Bowen moves influence tissue?

In this module we view the body as electric rather than 'just' mechanistic, and unravel the electro-mechanical processes in the fascial system and how therapeutic intervention may play a role. Adding further depth to what tissue load can and does do is integral to adding richness in understanding of our soft tissue work with Bowen.

Understand the electric nature of your Bowen work

The fascial system is conductive. Which opens up a few questions we delve into.

In this course, we explore the electricomechanical processes in the connective tissue matrix and how our Bowen manipulations may contribute to this phenomena.

  • What does fascia's conductivity got to do with (Bowen) manual therapy?

  • What's collagen got to do with electric potential?

  • Why would the Bowen manoeuvre maximise electric potential?

  • What is tissue remodelling and turnover?

  • Why is intermittent touch effective; what's it got to do with matrix turnover?

  • Finally: Do we want to add depth and meaning to our work

Understanding Bowen involves studying the bioelectric nature of the fascial system...

In this course (one of my favourite I have to say!) we unite our understanding of the organism as electric in nature, with scientific principles and explanations of fascia as being conductive --> this sets us on a windy path of streaming potentials, piezoelectricity, collagen, matrix turnover and other fun topics that cumulatively shine the light on our understanding of our soft tissue work with Bowen.

Benefits

What you will gain doing this course

  • Up-knowledge

Being a true excellent soft tissue clinician requires more than manual skills - it requires knowledge beyond the actual technique itself. Knowing what you do and why becomes the foundation of your work!

  • Understand

It's one thing to read about the conductivity of the fascia matrix, yet a totally new learning experience to understand the bioelectric nature & effects from touch in relation to the Bowen Technique! processes.

  • Transfer into practice

Your depth of knowledge and understanding will be transferred into your clinical practice. When you learn what could be occurring beneath your hands, electromechanically, this wisdom goes far beyond your current work–rather, it is now applied to any new therapeutic skill.

Jenny Petridis

Hi! I am fascinated and passionate about understanding things! I've been in bodywork for about 20 years now, starting when I qualified in Remedial Massage. Once I came across the Bowen technique, well - as they say - the rest is history.

I love to travel, to study, to research and of course, Bowen Therapy. Mix them together and that's how I became deeply involved in and interested in the mechanisms of Bowen through fascia science..
